Talk Talk are a breath of fresh air. We had Virgin and BT both offering to move us free of charge, Virgin boasting their superior fibre optic cable Broadband speeds. I am happy I paid #69.99 set up cost for the (BT employed) engineer (who gave us connection boxes in 2 rooms), and he turned up right on time. Better than the Virgin contracted engineers who were lazy and had to come out twice to correct their original shoddy installation. Through (old) phones lines theTalk Talk broadband is much faster than Virgin was (in the same area!) PLUS I complained that we should have been offered the recent free 6 months Broadband promotion as our set up date (27 Aug) was within the promotion period (from 18 Aug)and our contract sign (12 Aug up was prior to the promotion. They honoured it without quibbling. The international customer service teams were (unusually) articulate, switched on and well trained. I love the package, it’s halved my bill. No wonder they’re voted repeated best customer service!
Talk Talk are the worst telephone company ever! call centre based who knows where! do not understand you, cheap calls/package beyond a joke.. a company that lacks SERIOUS communication! NEVER AGAIN!! a proud BT customer, even though exspensive.. GREAT SERVICE!!
Sold an unlimited service on the phone only to find out by looking up myself on the web that I had been mis-sold. I had really been sold the basic service, and told the wrong price at that too.
It took 20 minutes on the phone to cancel my order and 18 month contract – longer of course than the initial sales call.
I wouldn’t trust them now. I consider I had a lucky escape.
Having previously been with Tiscali I recently transferred over to Talk Talk. I’ve previously not had any issues with Tiscali however since my service was transferred my broadband service has gradually deteriorated. I’m supposed to be able to get up 10MB however I’m lucky if I get 1MB. It’s got to the point now where even surfing the net has become painfully slow and verging on dial up speeds. Decided enough was enough today and I’m changing ISP. It’s not surprising that Talk Talk came bottom in a recent ISP review. Contacted TalkTalk today for my MAC code and after cutting through all of the Sales talk I was asked to redial a premium rate number for the code. Rang the premium rate number and I ended up talking to the same team of people!!!!! Can’t wait for our service to transfer
Customer service on the phone does not exist have been put through to India left on hold for 10min and if I hear city lights one more time I will throw-up. Have spent at least half a day on numerous occasions I have been lied to. Have been given a warning for inappropriate language which will stay on my talktalk profile forever because I used the word bloody how infantile. Have given up phoning customer service usually post on the members noticeboard at present it is taking a week to get an answer. Have been upgraded to plus there’s still capping on my line my new modem was sent elsewhere I am having a dispute which when I ask a question I have to wait a week and I have just signed up to plus but I cannot use the services but I will be billed for them. I hear the question in the background why do you stay with them? They are the only ISP that have unbundled services at the exchange. If you value your health and sanity keep clear. Talk talk should carry a government health warning. So If you can possibly do it pay the extra few quid a month and go to a reputable ISP and do yourself a big favour you don’t need the hassle and after all who would not spend a £5.00 a month for the sake of their health
I have had an increasingly bad exoerience with TalkTalk broadband. I joined them two years ago, and, at first, the service was OK. In the last few months, the connection has become slow, with the connection frequently lost.
The people in the call centre (in India) are so unhelpful that they’re beyond satire. I found them technically incompetent, promising service that is never delivered, and fobbing me off with anything that they think I’d accept. That is, when I was fortunate enough actually to get them to answer without having to wait for an unacceptably long time.
TalkTalk’s telephone service, on the other hand, was absolutely fine.
After ordering a new telephone/broadband service with Talk Talk, the engineer (from Outreach) came to activate my line, caused damage to some electrical wires and left a shabby job with silicone gel bulging out of the hole where the wires are, and now, I have been told by Talk talk that I must pay an Electricial/workman to repair the damage and claim back off Outreach (Engineer company), as nothing to do with Talk Talk. I told Talk Talk my contract is with them, they contracted Outreach to do work for them, so they should fix the damage. After several phone calls, being passed from one dept. to another, promises to call back which weren’t fullfilled and being generally fobbed off I am going to end my contract (30 day trial)…disgusted with my treatment…customer care is obismal.
I moved in February and wanted to take my Internet/ landline deal with me. I told them in December when I would be relocating. It is now September 2010 and I still have no Internet. I had to chase them to sort out my landline and have had to contact them 7 or 8 times to find out why I still have not been connected to the Internet. I have never received an apology or an explanation, I have had to spend hours on the phone being passed from pillar to post with no result. Today I told them to disconnect me, they said they may charge me a disconnection fee!! Customer service is shocking, if I did such a poor job in delivering a service I would have been sacked, will never deal with them again!!
Talk Talk – the nightmare, agressive and lacking in any support skills, rude and very sharp (as in practice).
Avoid at all costs.
What looked like a good package would be if it worked, reliability is the main fault, don’t know if they are cheep modems? before changing i was running net gear on aol using BT never failed at all now 4-5 times a night and very slow to come back. its CRAP.
