an ongoing diabolical war is my experience of orange over the last year or so. All the comments I echo, promises are made and not kept, line drops frequently, i was sold a higher speed than the line can handle, they told me friday they now have their own llu eqpt in my exchange so can spped up to 4md-have checked this via bt and it is simply untrue-truly dreadful unaccountable service-do not go near them

Signed up no problem, quick and easy with the MAC code from my previous supplier (SKY).

Only issue is upload speed and the ping. I get the same download speed as sky (around 5meg) but the upload is very poor and the ping is very high (120ms).

I would recommend for cheap broadband but dont expect it to be quick. Pay for what you get!

Do not use Orange home broadband! I signed up to them because they were charging the same as sky but told me they would give me a £25 credit on my mobile phone bill (also with Orange) for joining. My activation date arrived and i had no connection. I phoned the technical “helpline” in India and was told to wait until the morning and it would definately be working – was not. Over the next few days i had to make several more phone calls to the “helpline” who seemed completely unable to help, everytime i phoned i had to confirm what router i was using – they provided my router, were supposed to be fixing my problem in between calls but still never seemed to know what router i was even using so it didn’t take long for me to realise that they were not doing anything to fix my problem. Every time i phoned they made me go through the same process to get connected but it never worked, so i would end the call with them giving me some technical reason for why it wasn’t working and would arrange a call back. Not one call back i had arranged was made between the times they had agreed and several were never even made and i had to ring them again, On one occasion they were supposed to ring back between 6.30pm and 9pm, i had no call – when i phoned them the next day they said they phoned at 10.50pm!! i advised that i had no missed calls and even if they had tried to call at that time it was ompletely unacceptable – obviously being in India they get confused with what time it is, on one call i was asked what time is it in England now!!
After 2 wasted weeks of endless calls, failed call backs and still no internet i phoned customer services to say that i wanted to cancel because they could not fix my problem and were clearly making no attempts to do so, I was told that it would cost me around £150 to cancel and if i wanted to cancel for free i would have to wait 30 days for them to fix the problem. I explained that the technical team were completely incompetant and were clearly not doing anything to fix my problem. I advised that besides their inability to fix my problem their customer service was awful and i was not receiving an acceptable level of service, the lady i spoke to did not care and i was basically told tough luck you need to wait until the 30 days are up. I told her to make arrangements for it to be automatically cancelled then after 30 days and she said she could not do this and that to “qualify” for the free cancellation i would need to be in constant contact with the technical team so that they knew that i still had a prblem, they said if i did not keep ringing they would assume that the problem had been resolved! I was told that i would not be charged for the 1st month but i was, when i phoned they said this would be refunded from next months charge, i told them there won’t be a next month’s charge because as soon as these 30 days were up the contract wss being cancelled, they told me that i wouldn’t get my money back then!! So they expected me to pay £17 for no internet connection and hours of my time wasted ringing them. I have also never received my £25 credit to my mobile account. 30 days have no passed and i am awaiting my £17 refund. Sky are activating my internet on Thursday – fingers crossed!!!!!
