I would not recomment BT either. About time they got someone who could speak english and understand it to….. Also get someone who knows what they are talking about. I have had 2 engineers round now who both said that the Phone line is really good, so must be the broadband provider (BT)
Trying to explain to the people in INDIA that its not the line its the provider of the Broadband which has the fault, is like getting blood out of a stone, i am only getting 43kbps download and 448 upload.been on the phone to about 10 people over the past 5 days. Had enough i will look for anothe provider. BT YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had poor speed and so called BT as the broadband only worked when the phone rang!! I found out that I had forgotten to connect a filter when I moved a phone to another socket, customer help asked me to check all and guess what this fixed the problem. I then also purchased an iPlate to isolate the extension wiring from the broadband and now get an extra 2.5M. So in 3 years of service not too bad I suppose.
We move from SKY to BT on January 2011, with the idea of pay less, unfortunately..pass to a big nightmare and the big scam never seen.
the service apparently starting on 18th January, we have option 2, 40GB . we really not use p2p or another downloads. however sometimes, like see Iplayer , hearing music with we7. and you tube videos.
also we work with 2 e-mails imap. all day.
The speed never work fine, just in the mornings, during afternoon and evening the speed and my e-mails get frozen, and is nothing can do, we call to technical support during all week, and the problem continue.
today 28th there is not a solution, and request cancel this account.
But the history not finish yet, on 25th January arrive a e-mail from BT what say my usage is of 32GB …
32GB in 1 week ? we call to technical support and they say we use this, they ask to us for malware, that not exists because we use Imac. and the pc wear malawarebite, and is free of infections.
our wireless is disable, because all house is connect by wire Ethernet. the big surprise BT cannot proof or show me how I use this 32 GB in 7 days.
from the next days, we check our line all day, and not use anything in our BT internet, except e-mails, a big surprise next day our usage rise to 39.2GB near limit, and they recommend upgrade to unlimited, that mean £ 10 more in the bill. … there is absolute disgusting and never never again choose BT …

Service is appalling. I am moving house and after telling me that they could give me a free transfer and seemless move I spent 3 hours yesterday finding out that it would cost me £127 to move and would have to wait a week after I have moved to have the line. On top of that they managed to order me two new services on my current line that I never wanted and now have to attempt to contact them to cancel these. Have transferred to Be – connection £85 and better package with free UK and International calls at £10pm cheaper.
customer service is nonexistent. just hung up after holding for 31 minutes. avoid bt
I contracted in to BT Total Broadband for 18 months. As soon as the term expires I shall change. I have been totally disappointed with BT Total Broadband. I have not one single time been able to connect and relay on an uninterrupted service. I have been a BT customer from
1968 but the BT Total Broadband experience has been a total disaster.
i only typed in one stars as there was nothing lower to nominate.please read as many reveuws as you can as bt tie you into a contract what you cant get out of..be warned and take heed..
we eventually got out of the bt contract and moved to o2.bt was so slow and unreliable we were on phone to bt every day with unresolved problems for hours sometimes.never in my life again would i use bt for anything…worst service in the world.i hope people learn from my mistakes ..
changed over from talk talk to BT today and i am so pleased! no problems at all installing home hub, internet speed has been excellent all day even when all my kids came back from school and 4 laptops and x box were on there was no drop in speed or loss of connection which with talk talk we lost connection all day long. so far so good!
DON’T BUY BT BROADBAND.
The service is absolutely terrible. An engineer called Neville came round a week ago because my speed was incredibly slow. He fiddled around with the wiring and increased the speed but, in doing so, he disconnected 2 telephone extensions on floors below. Today an engineer was supposed to come round and correct this but failed to turn up. When I rang BT Broadband they said they wouldn’t pay to put this right because they are only responsible for the broadband extension, even though it was their engineer who caused the fault. Eventually they put the phone down on me. What sort of service is that? Why should I pay for this?
