Bt say they will connect you within 4 days. Complete rubbish. First they said they could manage 2 weeks minimum. Then they did not show up or call to let us know, so my husband took a day off work for nothing. Then 2 weeks later they did the same thing again. Another day off work wasted. Then again today they have not sown up or called and I have wasted a day off work. They cant tell us when they will come either.
Their excuse is that someone needs to check the terminal but as we keep telling them a thousand times, it has already been checked by an engineer and works absolutely fine, our neighbor is sharing the same terminal and it works perfectly well. He managed to ring up a week after us and get it done in one week, and we are still waiting 6 weeks later.
We know they are lying to us about the terminal. It is so frustrating.
No apologies, no real reason for this. Just my husband and I sitting at home waiting for them endlessly day after day after day.
Do not use BT,they treat you like dirt
Absolutely the worst customer service in any UK company I’ve encountered. Had a BB problem which turned out to be an exchange problem – was suggested my router was at fault but I could only get a fresh one if I took out a new contract as the old one was technically mine – had to do that and they asked me to return one in a pre paid bag. The next working day after I sent the old one back had an e-mail chasing me up to send what turned out from the serial number was the new one. Unbelievable. Reading between the lines I get the impression the call centre staff are more concerned about their job security than helping their customers. Why on earth should they ring me back telling me I had forgot to ‘rate’ him! I’m off elsewhere almost immediately – even if I pay off my contract I can go elsewhere and not pay any more than i would pay staying. BT never again
I’m totally disappointed with BT and I cant believe I’m actually stuck with them for the next 6months with their ridiculous 18month contract. You never understand their bills and we end up paying extra charges for petty things which we dont understand anyway. Please dont be fooled by their adverts that says you get 3 or 4months free because you’ll end up paying everything back and also increase their line rental right after you have taken up the contract.
Customer service is poor and make sure you never face any financial difficulties when you are in contract with them because they will not help you in anyway or give you extra time to pay your bill. They will treat you like trash and charge even more money. I’ll like to go on and on because this is my biggest mistake ever but a word to the wise…… PLEASE STAY WELL CLEAR OF BT!
Beware BTs’ claims that you MUST give BT all your non-BT User ID’s and Passwords and that you can ONLY access your own Domains’ email servers ( non-BT )through a BT-Yahoo server ! This is all “COBBLERS” !
After hours on the phone to Mumbai ( BT ‘Customer Service ONLY phone contact ) four or more Engineer visits to sort line and exchange problems – these guys are ‘generally OK’ – and TWO months battles with idiots , BT FINALLY accepted I was correct, and they did NOT have any such “right” nor was “their” technology completely different to every other ISP in the World !
I now have a very basic 5Mbps download speed with a crawling 350 Kilobytes per second Upload speed, which is actually SLOWER than the previous Plusnet ( BT Owned ) speed ON THE SAME EQUIPMENT ( except this ‘wonderful’ BTHub3 with a five foot range ! I have an old house & BT ‘technology’ cannot cope with bricks and mortar so it seems ).
DON’T let BT-Yahoo Bullshit you !
Worst customer service I have ever experienced from any UK company. Took several months for B.T. to finally realise that the line was only capable of 512K. Impossible to speak to anyone in the UK about the problem and the India call centre was worse than useless. For a company that specialises in communication, they haven’t a clue.
We are still trying to sort out the problem with BT. Spending so many hours phoning etc.
They don’t listen to you , they just repeat what they trained to say until you give up.
We hardly download anything because of our usage seemed so huge when BT caculate.
and worst of all we are stuck with them for another year. For another year, we can’t download hardly anything (basically we stopped using our computer)
Please, please think twice before sign up with BT. What they say in the ad won’t turn out as they say and customer servise is dreadful. We don’t want anybody else to suffer like us.
I had the most apalling experience with BT. When I was planning to move house from Suffolk to Oxfordshire I asked them to check the contract and connection speed because I was worried that the (potentially) only 2 Meg connection at my new home wouldn’t support Total Broadband. They assured me it would however. And then 7 months later after weeks on end without BT Vision, hours on the phone talking to overseas customer services and techs and 3 visits by engineers, they finally admit that it won’t work in my new location. I asked to speak to a senior manager 3 weeks ago in order to get a satisfactory explanation and apology (and recompense) was told by the overseas rep that it would be his personal mission to sort. Bugger all heard. Stay well clear – I would save you all the hassle.
Although tried very hard, the tech in India after an hour of trying was unable to fix the internet connection problem and wanted to shift me onto the pay-to-use service. Rang someone at work with a little bit of nouse and he fixed it in 15 minutes.
We just got our first bill and are totally shocked. Our package is option 1.
We are charged 80pounds extra for go over the limit. But 80 pounds?
We didn’t know that we would be automatically charged either.
When we were using another provider we never had to pay extra apart from the package price.
This is real rip off.
Top of this, Broadband goes down all the time and speeds are very slow.
I am surprised nobody warned this before.
Can’t wait to cancel this and we are going to go elsewhere with our phone service as well.
Been with Total Broadband for 12 months, absolute rubbish. Broadband goes down repeatedly, very irritating, and speeds are slow, very slow. Just waiting for the last six months of the contract then I am off. Connection from switch-on most days takes up to three attempts. Very disappointing, wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, infact don’t know anyone who would. Friends like me who foolishly subscribed thinking they were getting a good package are in total agreeance. Awful!
