Initially relieved to be rid of Virgin Media when I signed up with Tiscali. Speeds were ok, around 1mbps. In later months the speed dropped right down, (as low as 64kbps!) then became unable to connect at all for about 6 weeks. The technical support service is terrible - had to repeat everything I had said on previous phone calls (do they not keep records??) and was not called back on numerous occasions when promised I would be. Eventually (after loads of phone calls) had a BT engineer come round (at Tiscali's expense) and he did some adjustments to my phone line. Now it works perfectly (fingers still crossed) at 6.5mbps and 100% stable connection. Overall: cheap, but a nightmare when things go wrong.

Worlds worst customer service I had and still do at the moment worse luck, tiscali broadband and phone. I was moving house and rand and ask them if I could take the package with me was told ring BT ask them to put the phone line on and ring us back with the number, rang BT said no problem but it will be a 12 month contract for the phone if we do it but tiscali can do it for you, so rang back they said no we cant cancel the account with us then ring BT for phone. Whats the use of that will still have 12 month contract with BT. So made my mind up to go with BT, phone on no problem. This all happened on 21st Aug 08 told tiscali to cancle it all on 3rd Sept 08, 3rd Sept comes all still on have rang every day since to be told it will be off in 24 hours, it takes 10 days, broadband will be off in 1 hour, phone in 24, will diconect it manually, will be off in between 1 and 24 hours, spoke to every dept its now 19th Sept and its still all on and checked my bill on line they want to take money out on 1st Oct again I got news for them. They are without doubt the worlds worst customer service team I have ever come across avoid at all costs! Letter sent to general manager still waiting for reply. No surprise there.

I have never experienced such shocking customer service in my life...
I was happy with the service that Tiscali provided for 2 years and then I moved house and it all went downhill from there. I moved 10 months ago and I've spent, on average, 2 hours a month on the phone to them since. They've not transferred services, failed to send bills (but charging me anyway), disconnecting the service twice, waiting up to half an hour to get through... need I go on?

I would avoid Tiscali at all costs... they may be cheap, but there well below average customer service compensates for this.

DO NOT USE THIS ISP!!!!

The customer service at tiscali is the worst i have encountered. They make it difficult to cancel (or downgrade), and then continued to charge me for 8 months despite having issued me a MAC code. They then have failed to give me a refund, despite promises that it is "in the system" somewhere. I do not believe that tiscali actually have a system, as nothing you request ever actually gets actioned.

Customer service reps just read from a sheet and do not listen to your queries.

I will never ever ever use tiscali again, and would not recommend them to anybody.

will never, ever go near Tiscali again. I have had major upheaval caused by their incompetence for almost a year. In (VERY)short, an engineer came to repair a fault with the phone line, only to cause a major problem with the broadband connection. Tiscali's customer service strategy appears to be to cause so much frustration, that the customer gives up. After many calls, letters, e mails that went either unanswered or simply ignored, Tiscali refused to send another engineer to repair the damage they had caused. At their request, I sourced an electrician to investigate, at my own cost, and still they did not act upon his findings. I contacted CISAS who instructed Tiscali to let me out of the contract without penalties, but they took so long, that the contract had expired anyway! I am still left without Broadband, and have a loft with wires all over thanks to Tiscali. They are still sending me demands for payment for a service I never received. SIGN UP AT YOUR OWN PERIL.
