As I am now finding out, FairADSL is - in my opinion - fast becoming among the worst broadband ISPs in the UK.

After referring many friends to FairADSL over the years because of their competitive prices, I am now finding with the advent of cheaper packages provided by larger companies, FairADSL does not want to let you leave their company. And they will threaten Court action for their own incompetence!

I requested my service to be cancelled using their online form, and I received an email stating my disconnection request had been successful. Months later my connection was still active so I requested again and was told that there was a problem with the online form and I should email cancellations@fairadsl.co.uk with my request.

This I did. Two months later, my connection was still active. I cancelled my DD and informed FairADSL of this and was told by them that the connection would be disconnected within 2 weeks.

I then moved to another address. After signing up with them at this new address, and subsequently moving again 18 months later, I then have more problems cancelling my new account.

Now, at my present address and rid of FairADSL (or so I believe), I receive more letters from a debt collection agency asking for unpaid fees. No mention for what dates, address, or account.

After many weeks of trying to get this information from Premier Support, they come back stating dates which don’t even match where I was living at the time, and that are over three years ago! Why have they not asked for this before?

Getting any information surrounding their unfounded request is like trying to pull teeth. I am now taking my case to the BBC and the Courts to make everyone know about how bad this company is.

Overall, the broadband service provided was fine when I wanted it, but when I tried to cancel the service and leave, their customer service fell far below any acceptable standard for any company that should be allowed to trade in the UK.

Please email me: admin@famuk.com if you have had similar problems with FairADSL and I will collate a list of names so we can find out how big this problem is. I wish no-one to suffer the rubbish I have gone through with FairADSL.

Took me months to get disconnected. I filled out the online cancellation forms, made lengthy phone calls with no answer, sent letters to the address provided & no response.

I even asked BT to disconnect me.

Finally I was given a date for cancellation, at that date I stopped the direct debits.
Guess what, I still had broadband for the next few months!!

Finally disconnected & about a year later I recieve a letter from 1st Credit threatening legal proceedings for unmade payments!

I informed 1st credit about this & told them I will contact a solicitor if necessary.

You will save yourself from so much hassel & grief staying away from these virtual ISPs.

I started trying to close my account 15 months ago. It took 6 months to get my line released and now they've started sending bills after all this time.
If offcom was doing its job it would take a very serious look at this bunch.

Don't go near them !

The irony is that they were originally recommended by that bastion of consumer rights, "Which"

I've been with them for over 3 years and everytime I moved home and canceled service they kept charging me for next 3-4 months until Irealised and called again several times.
Last contract I had ended up the same over 130 gbp overcharged !!! and counting, when i told them to unsubscribe me they reffered me to canelation page that doesnt work!!!
Like other who posted here, stay away from them. Their helpline it's bad as well, first person I talked to told me to pay now or face debt colectors, then hang up. Avoid them!

All the comments of difficulty, not following codes of practice, not supplying migration codes etc are true. I could not migrate so I cancelled many months ago and received confirmation etc... but still I am sent bills and now a snotty letter threatening court action!!!??? Absolute nightmare and disgraceful behaviour - avoid at all costs.
