I took broadband from one tel with a UK calls package. I then decided to use them for line rental.BIG Mistake the problems really happened when i decided to move to BT for line rental and my calls were rerouted to BT too.I did not know and ONE TEL carried on charging me for calls which I was paying BT for. I have never had an accurate bill from ONE TEL and every time you ring the Indian Call Centre it is a disaster. Their accents are so thick you cannot understand them. They never do what they promise and never make notes of your complaint so that every month you have to go over the same story again. I have written to the head office address three times and been ignored. I tried ringing the UK number on their letter head and am told that number is not available!!!! They are a telecoms company for goodness sake.I have e mailed and got nowhere. I have also tried both OFcom and Otelo.
My advice is if you have not got ONE TEL stay well clear they are an unmitigated disaster.
I still have not had my complaint rectified after 10 months. I shall change provider as soon as I can after the 12 month contract.STAY CLEAR of them for your your own sanity

We went with onetel because of the international call and broadband package. Worst mistake of my life. Moved house in March, and had no broadband service for 6 weeks because Onetel had the incorrect postcode. BT on the other hand opened the new line and set it up for ADSL just fine. Spent almost 6 weeks on the phone every other day trying to get an idea of what was going on. Customer service is appalling, all based in India so they are not familiar with anything over here. I am Indian myself-- and even I find it hard to understand what that say! Basically they are incompetent fools who have no idea what they are doing and constantly refer to a checklist on what they should say. I am constantly put on hold and almost cut off every single phone call I make to them. Anyway, I have written 2 letters of complaint to them about being charged for a service we did not receive, and I get anonymous letters back from head office saying that my account appears fine and no credit will be granted. Of course it appears fine because they were sending the service to a different postcode!
Anyway, I have sent my complaint to BBC Watchdog and now Otelo which handles complaints to telecom companies. I wish I could cancel the service, but why the hell should I pay £50 for the priviledge?! Wish me luck. NEVER USE ONETEL AS YOU WILL TURN INTO A MAD PERSON!!

Been with Onetel since 2002, the ISDN gamer package has been very good.

However the change to bundled broadband has been less than fun and I can put it all down to one problem area, the indian call centre.

My last 4 support calls have been with people whos command of the english language has just not been up to a standard good enough for dealing with UK customers.

So Ive cancelled my broadband order and telephone line as the quality of some of the calls recently has been appalling.

I have had one.Tel long enough to know they're okay for me, i'm not saying everyone has had it good but i actually get a faster connection that what i pay, the Phone service is second to non and my line rental is cheaper.

Also i am getting others to try it in the family.

I have recently ordered 2Mb broadband from OneTel. I received letters stating that they would not be providing any equipment despite me ordering their modem. When I called, they assured me that my modem would be delivered on or before the day of activation. The day of activation came and went, but the modem did not arrive. As I was being charged for a service I could not use, I gave customer services another try. They informed me that I had not ordered a modem. I had to demand a modem as they seemed unwilling to supply one. I have just received my modem and connected to the service at 0.5Mbps - not the 2Mbps I ordered. So I went back on the phone to OneTel, who informed me that not only was I connected to their half-meg service, I was being charged exactly what I would have been charged for the 2Mbps service. I asked to be transferred to the 2Mb service and I was informed that there is a queue for existing customers and my 2Mb service would not be activated until August. However, new customers can be connected right now. When I asked why I was an existing customer, they explained that I had been connected to the half-meg service and so was now an existing customer.

If you want Half-meg broadband for the price of 2Meg broadband, choose OneTel. If you actually want 2Meg broadband, choose someone else (although from what I read, it's slim pickings out there - choose carefully). You have been warned. I wouldn't wish OneTel on anyone.
