As a former Orange user, who has recently switched to Zen internet - all I can say is, what a difference!

It is a relief to finally find a service that offers polite, friendly, helpful advice, to speak to knowledgeable staff who treat you as an individual, not a number - who seem to understand your needs, and most importantly, can speak and understand English.

The service from Zen so far, has been quick and responsive. Yes it is slightly more expensive, but after the agro of dealing with other ISPs, whose expensive premium rate technical help line and customer services can cost a small fortune and be described as nothing more than 'dismal' - boy is it worth paying a bit extra!

I highly recommend Zen and just hope they never get too big for their own boots that they stop seeing customers as individuals. Unfortunately, this is exactly what seems to have happened with many of the more well known ISPs - they have become so big, that once you have set up your direct debit, they can afford not to care about any problems you encounter.

As more and more people become disgruntled with big corporations, who put initial profit before the loyalty of their customers, I hope that companies like Zen, who actually seem to care about the quality of service they provide, gain in popularity.

As a mac user, I can also recommend this service as an excellent choice for other mac users too.

Reselecting another ISP is not about who is the cheapest, nor is about what gimmicks are being offered.
It is about having an ISP that works 24/7. Even great speed is really not essential providing it is over 3 to 4 meg. at the computer.
When we decided to leave OneTel when they were subjected to a Spam Attack our choices were immense.
I trolled thru' the Web ISP Forums looking for an ISP where the customers were not criticising their ISP. I reasoned that if I could find a happy bunch of customers that was the ISP to go to.
Zen Internet fitted the bill. Along with having a UK based office & call centre, a web site that allows you to control your own E-mail addresses and many other online ISP features.
I am content - my wife who manages a couple of club magazines can do her job stress free.

I have had problems with my connection since day one. Numerous calls and emails were not sufficient to make somebody concerned enough and to take serious actions towards resolving the issues. Apparently the problem lies somewhere in the BT exchange, however Zen do not seem to care much about it. The 8Mb I was supposed to get are never more than 2.8Mb and very often the connections is simply broken and I can't even use the service for which Zen happily charges £25/month.
Their customer service seems above the average ISP, but this doesn't help at all when my connection is down for hours and apparently they think its up to me to resolve the issue.

EXCELLENT - Pure and simple.

I have waited for the best part of a year before writing this review because I wanted to give an accurate and hopefully useful account of my connection with Zen.

I was recommended by a friend who had just subscribed about a month before me.

My installation was quicker than the 10 days, with the router and filers being delivered within 7 days.

The service had been comissioned a day ahead of the scheduled date ;-)

All customer support queries have been by email so far (not felt the need to phone as I haven't had any problems). Emails usually returned within 24hours.

Netgear DG834 router supplied has been 100% reliable.

Connections and downloads have been consistantly fast with no drop-outs or DNS issues.

Not the cheapest ISP but now charge £29.99 for the 1mb connection instead of £34.99. I think the money is justified by the excellent service.

No download limit restrictions, no port blocking.
Online gaming has been an absolute pleasure.

I run several machines through the Zen connection, 2 on winxp, Mac OSX on my wife's machine and a linux box. No problems under any O/S

(P.s. I don't work for Zen, I am just very satisfied with their service)

Have had zen 0.5meg service for mearly 12 months now. They aren't the cheapest but I have never had any problems with the service at all. ADSL has always connected and is reliably fast whatever time of day i use it. Had initial problems with the modem i ordered from them crashing my usb hub but that was down to my pc rather than faulty equipment. Zen arranged for collection of the item and refunded me in full promptly with no hassle at all.
Would easily reccomend zen to anyone looking for a fast reliable ISP, and you can;t complain at a months notice to cancel...

Zen by far is the worst ISP experience I have ever had.

Their support team was unable to resolve a continuous freezing problem, which was troubleshot extensively by myself to the point where it couldn't be any of my equipment.

Support returned one call only out of many promises to return calls, and that only when I was talking about legal action against them.

I have been with Zen on 512k connection for about 4 months and they are brilliant - I have had NO problems at all.

I have just signed up to the 1mb adsl when going live on 6th Oct. I shopped around for the 1mb connection and found other isp's cheaper than Zen, but at what cost for reliability and service ??

I will be sticking with Zen for the forseable future, unless the quality drops off - but then with only a 1 month contract its no hasle to move either is it.

very good,
only problem i had was with the,
netgear router was faulty not zen's fault,
netgear's customer service center is in india and they spoke poor english and take for ever to answer simple questions,
zen emailed me all info required with in ten mins of asking................

only thing find strange is there email renewal
subscription that you pay each month instead of
setting up a direct debit!!

Zen internet had a first come first serve offer for ADSL lines to be rolling out to homes in my area.This was after a payment of £57 ish which they charge my cedit card.A week After the offer was put up, another offer came on their website stating no charges to be made for connections and paid up past customers would recieve the same offer of free connections.After the deadline date was passed my line wasn't connected.A few friends already had thier connected.So a telephone calls to zen was made and i was told my name for adsl line wasn't placed.And i would have to wait another week for connection.In which they did.After one month usage my first bill came, so i telephone the office to ask for refund for the first payments and was told the connection charge would be used to pay for two months rental of adsl line. They charge £27.99per month.Now the past month i have been recieving 'final remind 'letters demanding payments for the second months charges which i was told was wave on throught the first payment i made.After countless phoning/emails to their offies speaking to different departments it came to one guys decision that i would not be refunded for the connection charges and i will have to paid the total amount.Now this stinks.. If i had the line connected on time promise by zen, i wouldn't be writing this review. I am now in two minds to paid it and sit back or cancle zen for being out of touch with the real world....
