After 18 torturous months with a certain I.S.P. with the dreaded initials T.T.I have now at last found a broadband provider that is much more reliable than talk talk ever can hope to be and that is in my view B.T. total broadband ,my download speed has increased from a measly 512 Kbps up to a respectable 6.8-7.2 Mbps,up until now I have never once dropped off line or had any difficulty whatsoever on accessing the internet,after having to stick out 18 months contract with talk talks circus clowns I can now at last use my pc and access the internet with none of the frustrating problems caused by talk talk,and to sum up the differential in price B.T. are not much more (contrary to popular belief)expensive than talk talk ,for me B.T. is much better value than talk talk and that is simply because B.T. works ,talk talk does not

BT was involved in secret technical trials during 2006 and 2007, in violation of the RIPA Act.

BT continues to be involved with Phorm, a company previously known as 121Media - a former spyware company. BT hopes to be able to sell customer browsing data to advertisers in order to provide targeted advertisements.

The FIPR and Richard Clayton (Oxford University professor) have both re-iterated many times that they believe Phorm's spyware system called Open Internet Exchange (OIX) violates several British laws, including the RIPA Act, The Data Protection Act, and the Computer Fraud Act.

BT continues to obfuscate the issues regarding the legality of the system they are trying to force onto users.

Find another ISP who respects your privacy!

HI, well i am sure its all been said before but BT really are the worst in a number of areas, for example my connection speed is UP TO 8 MB, yea right am lucky if i get 1 MB and thats when and if i can eventually get online, slow and unreliable. Have been told some weird and wonderful excuses from line repairs to it seems fine this end, hmm well its not fine this blooming end, had been told its my fault because my computer MUST be slow, excuse me its top of the line, fast and reliable, the complete opposite to BT. The best thing about BT is errrrr hmmmm o yea the advert, so please do not be hooked by the glossy ads as the real thing is some what detached from image on the TV, for me the bubble has burst leaving a bitter taste.

My ongoing saga with BT continues despite me leaving for a much cheaper, better and more reliable provider.

It is only when you call to cancel that your calls are taken serious with copious offers of help to resolve any issues.

However, a word of warning, having been lied to, had services miss-sold and abusive conversations with the Customer Don't Care department, they have now taken to charging me for a service they do not any longer provide.

It has already taken me 3 hours in calls, queues and abuse and I'm no further forward.

I have now logged my complaint with Ofcom and Otelo to help me get back over £150 illegally taken.

If you are thinking of cancelling then I would cancel any Direct Debits that you may have. Make BT come to YOU for the money so you have the upper hand and can put forward your case.

What a bunch of dishonest reprobates, a professional company it is NOT, more a bunch of thieving B********'s.

BT Broadband and telephone was costing £110 per month, I now struggle to get as high as £40 including line rental.

Have been with bt for a year now and can honestly say I haven't had a single problem. I paid a little extra out of loyalty and trust as they are one of the dearest, there is no escaping the fact. You probably get what you pay for though and I have recently been offered a £3 a month reduction and have a bt vision box which me and my family think is brilliant. All in all I think its worth it.

The set up was totally idiot proof and worked straight away.

The speed is around 6-7 mbps and rarely drops below 5mbps. I have never experienced loss of broadband so I have found it reliable thats why I have rated technical support average because I have never used it, so please dis-regard those scores.

This is my first broadband company so I nothing to compare it to but I am extremely pleased.

Finally using internet explorer is sooooo slow compared to mozilla firefox and bt yahoo browser for me. Don't know if its relevant but I thought I would mention it!!
