EFH Broadband used to be great then they were taken over by 186k and are now rubbish. Very poor, Indian call centres who don't speak or understand english very well

Reliability declined and is now very poor.

Now they have started charging me £44 a MONTH when it should be £44 a quarter. Dozens of emails and a letter have now gone unanswered. I am now reporting them to CISAS and OFCOM.

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM, 186k or any of the companies they have bought.

Avoid EFH at all costs. They used to be excellent; support was offered by a UK call center who 9/10 could help you there and then and did an efficient and competent job.

That was then... since 186K took them over they have become as much use as a chocolate teapot. They didn't tell us that our payments hadn't gone through for 6 months due to a system error and when they upgraded and found the debt, they just cut us off and didn't bother to apologise. Instead, I had a sudden unexplained £111 debt and no broadband.

Their customer service doesn't exist - the call centre in India can't understand a word you say and when you ask for a manager, they tell you there isn't one available (so presumably the call centre is completely unsupervised). Their accounts department is incapable of doing their job properly, or responding to call back requests.

I finally found out what the problem was after a fortnight of waiting for them to do something by ringing their payments line - and a kind customer service agent finally apologised for the inconvenience. I paid the debt to get rid of them and I will be leaving for a new provider ASAP.

Don't bother with EFH or 186K - any company that can't be bothered to bill you and then cuts you off for it isn't worth bothering with!

EFH used to be good, with english speaking call centres and very respondant staff. since the takeover to 186k they have completely 'u' turned. My service dropped, I phoned to notify spending 40mins on hold the first time, 50mis on hold the second time. After getting through they advised their financials systems were broken and they required me to fax proof that I had paided them, when they direct debit me! They said the service would be on in 1hr. 4hrs later I still had no service, another 30mins on hold and I was having a no-sense conversation with a manager who kept changing the diagnosis of the problem, from a BT fault to financial systems. THey then asked me to fax the forms again. I refused to fax them again, told them if they dont reconnect me by 6pm (when their call centre closes) to cancel my connection! They are shocking! Do not use them...

Since EFH tried to switch the servers to 186k 5 working days ago, I have had no service at all. Call to the freephone helpline and I am told it will be back at the end of the day. Needless to say, the next day after having spent most of the day on the phone to a rent a call centre in india, I got nowhere. I did however, get my one and only callback. From a guy who promised me everything, including my MAC code, with which he would call back in one hour. Needless to say, this never happened. More phone calls to trace him down. I very much got the impression upon contacting the call centre again that they had been given instruction to not connect my calls and to waste my time as much as possible. At one point, while on hold waiting to be connected, I waited 30 minutes, before going to the shops. Came home later and was still on hold. The next day all the telephone lines were dead. I contacted Ofcom, who advised that there are new regulations with regard to getting a MAC code. I followed the directions. Needless to say, these regulations are weak and certainly do not favour the customer who needs the connection that has been paid for. Come Tuesday, their deadline has been reached and I can contact CISAS, who apparently have the power to fine them 10% of their turnover. I will believe that when I see it. Probably just another watchdog who will do everything they can to help the company out whilst leaving the consumer to rot. I have a business which will be ruined by this, so I will be taking every legal step I can to recover my costs, but at what expense to me! In the meantime, if you are looking for broadband access, you can not say that you have not been warned. Choose Broadband, avoid EFH and 186k like the plague.

A generally awful ISP. I do not recommend anyone goes near this lot. We have been cut off several times since they were taken over by 186k. 186k have a habit of taking over small decent ISP's and putting them all onto Tiscali pipes. This happened to us yesterday, and our connection was dropped. Since then we have been unable to re-connect, because our username and password are incorrect. Support tickets go unanswered. This time all of 186k's phone lines are dead (i thought this could be my line but does the same on my colleagues). Until i can speak to someone i have no broadband.

I wonder if they are having financial difficulties, or have gone bust?

Steer well clear of EFH broadband and 186k.
