Talk Talk is RUBBISH!

I called talk talk on 21st Oct 09 to switch over from AOL on the behalf of my 65 yrs old disabled aunt. I was told that a package with all the necessary paper and router will arrive in 5 days time (by 626th Oc). We waited but nothing arrived from talk talk except a letter saying that it will be delayed; we also got a letter from AOL saying that their service will be disconnected from 2nd of Nov (phone line and Internet). We thought that we will receive a package from talk talk before 2nd of Nov and then talk talk will swap over on 2nd Nov 09.
As we didn't receive any equipment from talk talk, I called them on 4th week of Oct 09 and I was told that they are busy and will be sending a package (with router and stuff) by 7th of Nov, and was told that our telephone line will work as normal, as it is very important for my aunt because she lives on her own and her husband (my uncle) passed away 3 weeks ago, and she is disabled and in regular contact with her doctor.
Guess what happened? On 2nd Nov, AOL disconnected the telephone line and Internet connection. One of my cousin called talk talk to find out yesterday (3nd Nov 09) but he was told that my aunt service was cancelled on 18th of Nov 09 (before we made a fist call to Talk Talk) this does makes sense at all. Now, my disabled aunt is left on her own without telephone connection, I have left my second mobile with her but she struggles to dial a number from there.
We will get the service with the BT instead and I will write a letter to OFCOM about talk talk unacceptable service.
I was very angry this morning and as a result I forgot to bring my sandwich to work... Damn!!!!

Their salesmen sweet talk you into switching and once you have switched and locked in they don't really care anymore. I switched, been more than a month now, no broadband. They tell me that the demand is high and it will take more time (weeks). Please dont fall into the mess that I am in now.

I have been with TaltTalk 6 years now, and i can honestly say, they have been the Best ISP I have ever dealt with, and i've been on the internet now since 1995.

they are constantly improving their service, my connection is very stable & extremely fast (within the limits of the BT exchanges & cabling).

my connection speed is at moment 21026 Kbps, which increases on a sometimes monthly basis as they monitor the line & make tweaks.

It is very stable, with very few connection losses, though if anybody is expecting 100% uptime from any ISP they are delusional. lots of things can affect a connection, including electricity cables etc. the fact is 100% uptime is a myth.

my uptime at moment is: 640:25:25 hh:mm:ss

and it is only that because of a power cut a while back.

Generally I am more than happy with the service I get for the price I pay.

I certainly do recommend them.

The WORST service I have ever ever ever had from a company. After moving house, I waited eight weeks and still had no broadband! They gave me the wrong dates for installation, text me with the completely wrong name, registered my phone number as a business number, were unable to access my account information, telling me I didn't have an account, when I had one, despite checking it all with BT. I was often disconnected when on a call or transferred. They had the nerve to charge me a cancellation fee when I was told I wouldn't and sent me bill after bill after bill, after being told I owed nothing. It turned out their system had/has generated me four accounts, which still aren't all closed after six months. Looks like I will have to call Ofcom and Otelo for the third and second times, respectively. There are even more problems, but I'll cease my rant here. Don't ever use Talktalk. I'm appalled.
