Initially joined Utility Warehouse as they seemed very cheap...I should have read the reviews on this site first!!
I've had problems with their servive from day 1...The line crashes almost on a weekly basis, having to ring the help line (or unhelpfull line) at 75p makes them very expensive in the end but more importantly very time consuming and frustrating when you could be doing something else!
The service center refuse to beleive any of their faults are their fault, blaming the router, BT and then myself.
No apologies, no call-backs, no service on foreign SMTP providers (which they don't tell you about) the list goes on.
When you get so fed-up with the shoddy servicey ou leave them, swallowing the £50 fee they refuse to give a migration code.
I can't speak for their other service but would obviously not recommend their broadband 'service' to anyone.

Very unreliable service. Land Line and Broadband down at least once a week. To be fair, when I do report the problem it is rectified fairly quickly. Nevertheless, it's a very unreliable service. Be warned they charge an extortionate 75p a minute for their Internet Support Help Line. I'm switching as soon as my 12 months is up (there is a minimum contact term if you read the small print).

I recommended a friend to the Utility Warehouse and he came back and said he had read some bad reviews. That's the trouble; most people only bother to write a review when they're dissatisfied. So I thought I would say how pleased I am with the service from the Utility Warehouse.
The broadband service is as good as anyone else's but the real clincher is that it's so much cheaper - and you get free phone calls. Not just unlimited calls for a fixed fee but if you take four services with the company they throw in calls to 01 and 02 number anytime for nothing!
But the best part is that if you have a problem you don't even have to ring their head office. You just contact your local distributor and most of the time, they can sort it out.

For all those reviewers who claim they are getting "unlimited" broadband from Utility Warehouse, think again. I was with them for a month, "unlimited", and they cancelled my contract for contravening their "fair-use" policy. No alternatives given, just, "Goodbye!".

So, I cancelled my homephone, gas and electric supplied by them, as you would, but since then, have been getting bills for these services every month for 3 months, in spite of signing up with alternative suppliers.

I cannot get through to these people. They tell me every time it will be sorted, but it is not. I have even been told by one of their advisors that it was up to me to inform them that I had cancelled my gas and electric with them. Totally wrong!

I can understand the benefits you can achieve with the system they have, but if anything goes wrong, you seem to be in deep do-do!

My advice: stick with the professionals, not these all-singing, all-dancing fly-be-nights.

So far so good... Their PAY AS YOU GO policy seems to be working too. I joined Seriously Internet service on 31 May 2005 after I had been kicked out from The Utility Warehouse and so far cannot complain. I will write another review after a year because I have had bad experiences previously with Tiscali and the Utility Warehouse so I do not want to pass any hasty judgements but I am keeping my fingers crossed. As the matter stands right now I would be willing to recommend this ISP to anyone. By the way all their services are USAGE BASED as far as I am concerned and also there is no activation fee when migrating as long as you are in possession of the MAC and lucky enough to be with a company at present which will give it to you when you decide to leave.
