UPDATE: 4/JUNE/2005
Bad News! BoltBlue has just send me an email. I started reading it and strangely enough it was almost identical to the mail I received from Tiscali:
"Your usage is too high for us. We must reconsider our contract"
Yes! Another company who states plain and clear in the T&C that they DO NOT RESTRICT usage. WRONG! Since my signing up to Boltblue (£64 setup charge and £30 a month after!!!), they have actually changed the contract. Apparently in the first paragraph they state that they have the right to do this without notification.
Boltblue are now on my ISP hate list for lying to me. I am a genuine heavy internet user, running a home network with 4 equally-genuine students. In the avertisements and T&C offerec by Boltblue, I was to be offered 1Mb/s connection, uninterrupted, for as long as I like, NO RESRICTIONS. They have dishonored our contractual agreement and I will be seeking an alternative after the next monthly payment to them.
On top of this, in the months I have been using them I have had several, very irritating internet failures lasting anywhere up to 24h. I have also yet to receive the FULL 1Mb/s I am paying for! I only hope that transferring to an alternative will not be as painfully troublesome as it was with Tiscali.
IF YOU KNOW OF A DECENT ALTERNATIVE PLEASE EMAIL ME AT chambead@gmail.com - Thanks
AVOID TISCALI AND BOLTBLUE - They both Suck
Ernz Out.
=================================================
THE BELOW COMMENT IS NOW NULL AND VOID:-
After several months trying to get rid of Tiscali I phoned BoltBlue and spoke to this guy Richard. He gave me an exact time that BoltBlue can get rid of Tiscali and activate the new service via BT. I am pleased to say that the service is up and running at full capacity 2 days early. 940Kb/s connection speed according to Beeline speed test (from a 1Mb deal).
The costs (£30 a month) reflect the excellent features offered by the service. Including UNLIMITED usage and NO RESTRICTION. Being a British based service, I expect that they, unlike Tiscali actually understand the literal meaning of these words.
I would like to finish this review by adding that of the 5 times I called BoltBlue to track the progress of my order I spoke to Richard 3 times, and another guy, Steve I think his name was twice. I either had the extraodinary good luck to speak to the same people more than once or this is genuinely a customer caring, small, but upcoming ISP.
I would seriously recommend this service to any heavy net users.
Tiscali sucks - Ernz out.

Have been with Boltblue for over a year now. Had many many problems initially with them, although it eventually got sorted.
Have gone through periods where I've been unable to connect, when you call them they blame BT, when you call BT they blame the ISP - so, six of one and half a dozen of the other. However, I suppose that would be the same of any ISP. At the end of the day we pay extortionate rates for 24/7 service but they offer no refund for our down time. Would I recommend them, NO.

Excellent service since January 2003. After reading all of the problems associated with other Isp's I am delighted with Boltblue and highly recommend them.
Support sevices are excellent although I've never had any major problem.
There have been many problems over the last few months(oct/nov) especially slow speeds.Very little help from customer services. Also problems getting online and regular maintenance work.I was willing to put up with this for a reduction to £21.99 a month but Boltblue have changed their mind and offered a £2 reduction to £25.99. TIME TO MIGRATE

I have been connected to Boltblue for about two months.
For the first month it was fine, (contantly over 460KB/sec without overheads) and the system was good.
During the last month the download speed had been up and down like a chorus girls panties, (Sometimes over 460KB/sec othertimes less than 100KB/sec), depending on the day and the time of day.
My latest speed test was ;
http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedchart.asp?id=723df8d1f41c
a131f7723df8d1
I have new PC, (windows XP, P4, 2.8Ghz, 512MB ram) and I was no worse off on a dial up connection.
I have 10 months left out of my sign up period and if Boltblue do not maintain contantly high speeds I will go elsewhere as there are other unreliable ISPs that are a lot cheaper.
Fido.

Registered on 6 March, received modem and was activated by the 10th - very impressive.
One very minor problem with microfilters - couldn't hear the phone ringing, but I have now been sent new ones and all is working fine. All within one week of first registering.
So far very reliable and fast service. I too was considering BT but believe I have a superior service.
Will keep you informed.
