Last updated: Wednesday, February 22, 2006 11:16:00 AM GMT

Nildram has added an extra 22 exchanges to its 8Mb broadband trial, taking the total number to 75. As part of the BT Max programme, the trial has been extended throughout the country to allow more users to take advantage of the faster speeds.

New Nildram customers have until March 7th to join the trial, after this it will continue to run for existing subscribers until the end of March, when the 8Mb speeds will start to be rolled out nationally. The trial enables users of Nildram’s Business Broadband, Broadband 2, Broadband2gO and Broadband2gO Lite packages to experience speeds of up to 8Mb and access numerous other benefits, such as voice calls over the Internet and faster downloading of large files.

"We are delighted that the third set of trial exchanges has now gone live as it gives even more of our customers the opportunity to experience the advantages of super-fast speeds," comments Sean Stephenson, managing director, Nildram. "The trial has been really successful and we are looking forward to 8Mb broadband availability right across the country."

As part of the trial, Nildram aims to ensure that existing DSL services can be upgraded to higher speeds, initially 8Mb, without the need for customers to make changes to their configuration.
