Does anyone know of a broadband provider who has good nntp newsgroup coverage? I am an old-school newsgroup junkie, but a lot of the feeds seem to be sparse from the providers. I would consider a third-party feed if the price is right and they have a good coverage of UK newsgroups.

I have never really used newsgroups. Is it much different from just using message boards like these?

Giganews has really good news retention. Probably the best of anyone out there. They are not cheap, especially for their unlimited plan though. Also Usenet Monster is much cheaper, but does not retain news for as long. Both good if you are looking for binaries.

I have heard of giganews before. I will check it out. I want to make sure they have a good list of UK groups, though.
Do you have a list of newsgroups they carry?

What is a newsgroup? Is it like BBC news page? I have never heard of them before.

I do not know that much about it myself. I do know in the old days that newsgroups were popular ways for people to exchange messages. We have these kinds of bulletin boards now, but you used to have a seperate program and you would download news messages from your ISP and they had all kinds of different topics you could exchange messages with. I think a lot of it now is pictures, video and music.
