My internet has been slow all day today. I have been trying to download a video and a demo and it is going like 10k. I have tried to find out what is wrong with NTL and they say "No Known Outages".

Why is my internet going so slow? Anyone else on NTL having this problem?

I was experiencing some packet loss earlier and saw an internet weather report that was showing high latency in many areas in the UK.

Perhaps it is impacting you. Try pinging something and see if you are losing packets or if you are getting really high ping times.

That will likely be able to tell me if it is the same thing.

I imagine it has cleared up by now. One thing you can do when you have this problem, besides the ping tests mentioned, is to run a speed test. The best is if your provider has one. If you get high speeds there, then the problem is between your provider and the rest of the net, or just out on the rest of the internet.

Sometimes that will just happen. Perhaps a connection on the internet has dropped out, or a router has a bad table. Usually it fixes itself with a bit of time. So if it happens, see if you can get some other sites or check back a bit later.
