They will be offering two new services called "Sky By Broadband" and Sky By Mobile.

You will be able to watch blockbuster movies, Premiership matches and more on your pc or mobile phone. Apparently they are going to offer over 200 movies to begin. The Sky By Broadband service requires that you subscribe to their Sky Digital service.

Hmm don't know if that is for me. I want to see a more open service where anyone can download movies for a small fee to their pc. Hopefully that day is coming. Then one day they may even get us movies within a year of being released in the US.

Sounds more like an on-demand satellite/cable offering than a broadband offering. Or am I mis-understanding it?

I do not really watch many movie videos so I do not think I would really care if I could get them off the internet.

I am not exactly sure how it is being presented, other than you need the digital sky package. It does seem more like a video distribution instead of a broadband system.

About this sky by broadband service. Does this come as a part of its broadband connection or is this a separate service.

I have used the Sky by Broadband service its ok good quality download speed. but the films that you can download are only the same as the films that are being shown on there movie channels (so whats the point.) You can only veiw them for 1 month, and you cannot save them to cd or dvd.(unless anyone out there knows how)
