This came up in a topic in the general forums. I did a little research and found one to start with. It is not a Broadband provider, but may be useful in a pinch.
I thought we could use this thread to compile a list of free ISPs in the UK.

I have found another one. Free Dial. It seems to be fairly popular. All you pay is for your local call. the internet access is free.

Thanks Shadow! I am trying to find something cheap. Would I need a different modem from broadband for that? Also can I get the modem for free too? I am not sure how it works. Seems like I would still have to pay for the call.

I do not know if I could use dial-up all the time. I have investigated using it on the road, and will when my position changes, but at home I would be driven crazy if I had to go back to the days of a dial-up connection.

Hey as far as i know dial up is not that bad if you just want to use your mails and check few things online.
The main issue is that on the go broadband would be only possible with 3G services on mobile.
And free internet on the move is not a good option, if you ask me.
