I am having an ongoing problem with my broadband service and am not sure if you can help or not.
The problem is a dropping DSL signal which is due to interferance on the line (similar to that if an inline DSL filter wasn't used).
I have done everything I can to try and rectify this on my own, by testing from the master socket, buying newer proffesional ADSL filters and buying the BT iplate and even a different router and telephone.
The noise on the landline is only there when the internet is connected. BT say there is no fault so i'm not sure what else there is to do.
Changing the filter and buying the BT iplate seemed to fix the problem at first, but by the evening it had returned again, almost like the filters were no longer effective.
I have no idea what is causing this and hoping someone has some other ideas.
The problem is causing me a low sync speed and the connection to keep dropping. So it is as if none of the filters are working.
Best Regards,
David.

Hi David,
When you tested from the master socket, did you also try from the engineers test socket located behind the front faceplate?

Make sure that when you do test you remove any extension cables, sky boxes etc as these can all cause noise on the line.
As a last resort do you have access to a spare router you can test with? Might be the router causing the noise on the line?
