I pay for Virgin Media Broadband up to 8MB DSL and access the internet through my Belkin wireless router.
The Belkin is connected at 54Mbps but having completed download speed tests I am running on average:
Speed Down 96.22 Kbps ( 0.1 Mbps )
Speed Up 312.19 Kbps ( 0.3 Mbps )
I cannot figure out what the problem is. Could it be my router? A problem with the line? Apparantly the line should be capable of up to 2.8MB download speeds.

I doubt this is anything to do with the connection being a wireless one. Where are you getting these speed results from??
Are you still experiencing this problem?

| Log into your router (192.168.0.1 on your internet address bar) and check out 'router status'. It'll tell you what your connection speed is. If its around the 2mb mark, then Virgin's network is congested. Basically, they've sold broadband to way too many people in your area and there isn't enough to go round. Good luck getting a refund...
