| i had to install windows xp pro corp version 2002 with service pack 2. when i ran the ntl broadband installation cd it wouldn't install saying there was a problem with the dchp. Can anyone please help? I tried re-installing other versions of xp but when i change the bootup to cd in the bios and restart the pc it won't load. when it comes up with the prompt to install from cd i press enter but it just repeats the prompt and goes on to boot from the hard drive. any help would be greatly appreciated. i only have one hard drive so reformating it isn't really viable, and i don't know how to create a partition on a hard drive with the operating system already installed.

Sounds like the other versions of XP that you are trying to install are not bootable versions or have not been correctly written to CD.
If this is a fresh install you should not have any problems with DHCP. Your router will handle DHCP and cant see your PC has anything to do with it.
Have you contacted NTL?
