I know this is for UK broadband but as I mentioned:

I am potentially moving to Maine, US. I found out the local provider is a cable company called Comcast. Does anyone know anything about this company? Do they have good service and prices for broadband?

Good luck with that. I have read elsewhere that cable service can be spotty at times and overloaded. Apparently you share bandwidth with all your neighbors, so maybe you only get maximum speed in the middle of the night.

I think Verizon is the company up there, or else it could be someone else. A lot of the US telephony is regionalized. It has opened up some in the last few years. Suppsedly though, different parts of the country have different phone companies.
