BE has received 24.5 million pounds of financing to help support their next generation ADSL-2 service which support up to 24 megabits a second. They want to be the first provider to launch 24 megabit service. They are team with Novator, and they hope to reach half the UK by the end of the year.
Does anyone use them right now for service?

24 mb is very fast! You could watch a movie in real time. I wonder if they will start having on-demand movie services and tv shows. That would be great. i wonder if others will offer it. I also wonder how much it will be.

Anyone think the other providers are going to step up and join them for this? I am going to write to my provider and ask them if they will be getting 24mb service this year.

That sounds pretty good. It is a bit disappointing for me because I may be moving out of the country. The US does not seem to have any broadband more than 3mb or so. At least where I am going to be. I guess I will have to get used to lagging behind in speed when moving there.

Now seeing that Bulldog is testing 20mb but with a lot of limitations, I wonder how fast the BE service is really going to be. 24mb sounds nice on paper but if you pay 3 times as much and only get 10 mb.
