I am tired of my computer. It is too slow. It has 256 memory and a slow hard drive, I think. I want to upgrade. So does anyone have any good recommedations. I do not want to pay a lot and I do not want to build it. I am not technical.

256 megs of ram is probably too little in this day and age. Really depends on operating system and what you are normally doing though.
What speed is the CPU of your computer, what OS do you use, what do you normally do on your computer? Graphic design, gaming, web browsing and e-mail? Also how much do you plan on spending?

My parents are using a Dell. I like it. I recommend you look at them. Some of the basic ones are a good deal.

Why not just go down to your local electronics store and pick out a new pc?
Most of the local shops have good deals. Check the circulars and see what is on deal for that week.

Thank you fellows for all the advice. Turns out we will not be needing a new computer. My boyfriend's father just bought a new computer and he is giving us his old one. I believe it has 2000 memory and a 100 hard-drive.
It is only a year old, so it will be better than the slow one we have now.
Best of all it is free. Although it does mean I have to keep him around a bit longer.

Well that definately sounds like a good deal. Congratulations. Hopefully it stays working for you for a long time.
Why did your boyfriend's father buy a new computer if the old one was not that old?

He does some computer graphics work and he gets a new computer every year or so for his job. So it worked out well for us!

VIRGIN BROADBAND IS A JOKE, AND SO IS THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I MOVED OUT OF MY HOUSE, CANCELED THE BROADBAND, RE DIRECTED MY MAIL AND 6 MONTHS LATER I RECEIVED A LETTER AT MY NEW HOUSE FROM A CREDIT AGENCY DEMANDING £71, ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! THEY WERENT MUCH HELP EITHER WHEN I PHONED THEM, CHARGED ME ANOTHER £17.99 TO CANCEL, EVEN ALTHOUGH THEY KNEW I HAD NOT USED IT IN 6 MONTHS, SEEMS TOUGH THAT I NEVER CANCELED, MAYBE IM GOING MAD AND MAKING UP THINGS!! IDIOTS!
STAY WELL CLEAR OF VIRGIN!!!!
