Campaign For Better Broadband From TalkTalk
TalkTalk has made it first onto the list for for our better broadband campaign. Every day we consitently receive complaints from dissatisfied customers of TalkTalk.
In the interests of raising broadband service standards in the UK, (see our mission statement), we’re taking an active role in trying to get TalkTalk listening to its customers and up its game.
This campaign is all about publicity. The more people that know about TalkTalk service standards (or lack of), the more pressure can be applied to TalkTalk to up its game and deliver the high standards of services that you expect.
What We’re Aiming To Achieve
Simply this: To be more prominent in search engines than TalkTak itself. What this will mean is that anyone searching on line for “TalkTalk” will see honest customer user reviews before getting to the TalkTalk sales site.
By reading reviews, at least potential customers can make an informed decision about the risks and potential benefits of signing up.
How You Can Help
Here are some simple but powerful ways that you can help:
1) If you are a TalkTalk customer, write a review (good or bad)

If enough people take action, we can do something about TalkTalk’s service standards.
I have had more problems with TalkTalk in the 6months I have been with them than the 3 years I was with BT. changed as it was a better deal. but as soon as my contract is up I will be changing back. I’ve had my internet access frozen due to a fault on their part altho I did get a refund, the customer services department are appalling. I have been lied to on more than one occasion. I have been charged for call boost, which I never requested and when I complained, was fobbed off. I called to complain about the Customer Services I’ve received and am still waiting (over 4 weeks) for a response. There is no such thing as customer care with TalkTalk. The so called Reps are unhelpful, slightly rude and as stated before issue false information. I would not recommend to anyone to take up a contract with them.
I have to admit it would be better if TalkTalk had it’s equipment in out local exchange and am not happy paying for a service that was promised as free in the original advertisements. Having said that I did have a problem with my line and they contacted BT who did eventually come out, the engineer that came to the door was very good and said that the problem lay at BT’s doorstep and thier equipment at the exchange was in need of a total update, he had to arrange for another engineer to visit the exchange to fix the problem, this took at least 2 days, I think far less of BT’s service than T.T’s. I did get the impression from BT that they were trying to lay blame on Talk Talk, but found it more than difficult because Talk Talk has no equipment at our exchange yet! and as the first BT engineer said of his own company thier equipment is antique. So are you sure James that it was T T at fault or BT’s lack of communication as in my case. On this note get your act together TT and get into a few more echanges, you must be making plenty of money with some to spare for sponsoring TV programs!
Dreadful. By far and away the worst service provider I have used, and without doubt the worst customer service I have come across in over 30 years.
I was a (reasonably) satisfied customer of Tiscali, but ever since TalkTalk took over I have had nothing but problems. The connection is intermittent at best, and by some distance the slowest broadband of the providers I have looked at in my area.
I first reported a fault way back in March, and whilst there has been some improvement of late, the spring and summer were a nightmare. They closed reported faults as solved when they weren’t, their communication (email and telephone) was abysmal, and even when they themselves identified that I needed a BT engineer out, it took a dozen emails or more to get one to visit.
When the BT engineer eventually visited he told me in no uncertain terms the fault lay with the TalkTalk equipment at the local exchange. It seems I am not alone in this neck of the woods in having these problems.
I eventually got them to agree to a three month refund of subscriptions (believe it or not they accepted their service was sub-standard), and even then I had to threaten to sue them to get them to pay up.
Awful, awful, awful. I admire the fact that this campaign has been started, but suspect Hell will freeze over before anything changes.
If any one wants to join TalkTalk please think again.TalkTalk has been a nightmare from the start. They cut of my Telephone line Because They could not set up my direct debit account on my behalf. I have given my bank details five times to TalkTalk customer services now, and I still have no service. I went down to my bank several times to see if they were a problem with TalkTalk setting up a direct debit account. The bank said TalkTalk has maid no attempt to open a direct debit account for you. This left me with no alternative to move over to another service provider. They sent me a letter saying if I you cease your service within your minimum contract period then you will be liable to pay a cessation fee. TalkTalk also threaten me to send my details to a debt collection agency which will contact you further. This is how TalkTalk treats there customers.
We are Talk Talk customers who have had no landline for the past 23 days. We have spent in excess of £30 contacting Talk Talk, kept on hold for an average of 30 minutes each time to be told we are high priority and they are dealing with the problem. Have asked for them to call us back to be told they do not have the fcility well neither do I anymore. No phone and slow broadband oftrn unable to get onto my emails.
Service – awful; Support – non-existent to pathetic; Speed – worse than dial up. These people are degenerate pond life, they are the dregs of a generaly pretty poor industry sector. Do yourself a favour and avoid them at all costs. As I don’t want to sully this site with foul language, I can think of nothing bad enough to say about talktalk.
total rubbish been with them for a wek now total crap carnt down load anything 0 download speed canrt see what my limit is as that page is allways down this boradband is total rubbish staff in india dont know what there doing and are extreamly rude i would never recoment talk talk to anyone ever they are a discrase
Firstly I am a gamer and require from my internet for it to be stable in both speeds and performance four nights a week for three hours each night.
Upon being moved from Tiscali to Talktalk we started experiencing disconnections, my speed would go from 3.5mb to 0.3mb at peak times in the weekday and normally all weekend or just sunday.
We get a letter telling us our package price would be going up to just over £30 (an increase of 100% for us) so we are really wanting a perfect service now for this quite silly and greedy increase.
They send an engineer (one who does jobs for most ISP’s in your area) out he changes our router to a new model, does some checks and says everything is OK at my end.
Problems continue, because my family have a stupid TV package as well they used this to fob me off saying I needed to talk to the TV support even though it was clearly a broadband issue.
Three months pass and after many calls and hours wasted which are the result of having a cheap call centre in India where the “technical support staff” seem to be stuck on a loop of “we only guarantee 70% of your maximum speed” well ok I can go with that but 0.3mb is 30% of 3.5mb yes ?
After what must of being 10 hours of calls asking to speak to a supervisor ” sorry we don’t do that”, ok we want to talk to someone in the UK please “sorry we don’t do that”, eventually we get through to someone who at least knew his stuff and wanted to actually provide some customer support.
A BT engineer was sent out, but wait they didn’t actually communicate with BT so they sent a phone engineer out, so he was here for all of 5mins.
Few days later they send another out, again Talktalk did not communicate with BT so we get another phone engineer.
A few more days later they manage to communicate and we get a broadband engineer, he says our line from the exchange to our house is fine and the problem is either our profile settings or Talktalks equipment at the exchange.
The past few days my disconnects have stopped happening from 7pm – 11pm when I game, however my speeds are completely fustrating 0.3mb at peak times 6/7pm + and I get a disconnect at 12pm + now. Someone has obviously been messing with my settings from Talktalks end.
They have also decided no it’s definitely BT’s problem and want to send another engineer out, we don’t quite know when because they guy who was ringing/helping us has not called for 4 days now since he promised us he would.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. No communication, leave you hanging, don’t get back to you, do not fulfill promises. Please do not go with this lousy company.
Up to 24meg = 1.6meg on average, that’s a long way short, and i’m approximately 3/4 of a mile from the exchange(not as the crow flies),the customer service(laughable) is absolutely abysmal,if you make a call and lucky to get through and disagree with them, your instantly cut off, they lack total interest in the job they’re supposed to do and any e-mails they send somehow ends up the TWILGHT ZONE or cyberspace (which ever you prefer),trying to do the VERY basics in registering on the forum is a no go,as the forum is in a BETA state which i find ridiculous considering how long they have being going, all answers appear to be copy/paste answers.
If you post a question the forum (what i’ve observed, since i’m unable to register) you are put in a queueing system, what the hell is that all about? they might get back to you the next day(but don’t hold your breathe).
They certainly DO NOT like criticism as i have (and others) had posts deleted for no apparent reason,i have tried to save some of the posts so i could dispute what they say.
All-in-all they should be scraped out of the Gene pool and incinerated to do the internet a great service.
I am surprised that mine is the first comment on here considering it’s been up since June, after all the bad about them on the net.
Anyway, there is no way in God’s universe that i would recommend TalkTalk to anyone,i would rather shoot them than let them suffer in their hands.
