Hi
Recently my BT Home Hub has started playing up. Every half hour or so the broadband light goes off and starts flashing. This ofcourse disconnects me from the internet. I restart the Hub and it takes a while to set back up again. I have to repeat these steps every time it goes off.
Does anyone know whats happening and what I should do?

Try this. At the back of the Hub it a reset button. Push this for 1 minuet and your hub will reset. If it keeps on doing this it must be a bad conection and get BT to do a free line test for you. Have you got the BT filters fitted to the house phone and hub, if not this can give you problems.

If it’s started doing it regularly and for a few days I would say it points at the hub it’s self.
Either is has got a component inside it that is starting to fail or the whole unit is overheating. Most of them have an internal thermal switch that cuts it off if they overheat.
When it cuts out, how hot is it? They should only be warmish to the touch. If it’s what you would call excessively hot then that is what your problem is. Check all the ventilation slots underneath it.
