Why does my broadband keep on disconnecting?
Question by True_Brit: Why does my broadband keep on disconnecting?
About every ten minutes my broadband disconnects. I have broadband through a phone line as I live in the middle of nowhere, but I do not think it is causing the problem because my next-door-neighbor (about 10metres away) does not have the problem. My ISP is Supanet and I have a “home DSL” external modem supplied by them. I suspect that my anti-virus(Norman) might have something to do with it as the problem started after I updated. What should I do, or who should I contact?

You will just have to play with it,
why dont you turn ” Norman off”, and let it run, and see if thats your problem.
When I run peerguardian2, its wants to disconnect me
about every 3 days, so I just run it when I need it.

I have a disconnect, re-connect problem also…I traced it to my router since I have several PCs in my home, do you have one, it could be intermittant lke mine.

Do you have the microfilter attached? If not, there can be interference which cuases the connection to break.
If you think it is Norton, try disabling it and also try disabling your firewall and see if that helps
