Why cant I connect my new computer to talktalk broadband modem?
Question by wayne e: Why cant I connect my new computer to talktalk broadband modem?
I have just bought a emachines computer which is loaded with Vista home.
I cannot seem to get it onto the internet with my broadband router even though it worked with my old computer.
Is there anything different about Vista that I need to be aware of?

make sure you have installed the software for the modem
if you have it maybe a compatibility issue with vista
you may need to download a a upgraded driver as there are problems with vista

if you are conecting your modem by USB you will need to install the USB modem drivers onto you new machine
How are you setting up the connection ? wired or wireless
I’ve recently setup a TalkTalk router for my father in-law and it installed ok on Vista Basic. I installed using the TalkTalk setup disc and it took care of everything. If you aren’t using the disc and are having problems…it might be worth contacting TalkTalk for a replacement disc.
