My O/S is Windows Vista Home Premium, which is noted for being slow, I am currently on 10meg, if I downgraded to 2meg would this be a bad move? (cable broadband in both cases) Thanks.

Cant seeing Vista being the problem do a speed test

Have you been told you can downgrade to 2 Mb?
Assuming you can do it, normal surfing won’t be affected, but downloading anything will obviously be five times slower. Trying to stream video like from BBC iPlayer will become unreliable, Online gaming will become a pain and file sharing would be a lot slower.
I definitely wouldn’t do it, if it was possible
… and don’t even consider switching to ADSL, you’ll hate it after being spoiled with cable
