Mobile broadband varies as regards speed etc – we have O2 mobile broadband but only use it as a backup or when we’re travelling. O2 mobile broadband only costs €10 a month if you’re a 3rd level student. We use Vodafone@Home for our regular broadband, costs us €45 per month and that includes all national and local calls and 200 minutes to any 3 Vodafone mobiles. We had been with Eircom for over a year but we had to pay about €56 a month with them so we moved.

I’ve gone through a few of the cheaper broadbands and found them useless. for the last year i’ve had the 10mb one from chorus. it’s €32 a month and we use, one pc, one laptop and the playstation internet at the same time with no problems with speed, i often watch streaming movies and they never do that annoying buffering thing!
I also have Vodafone@home, was BT previously but they got took over. Its around €47 a month? including wireless broadband, line rental and all local, national and UK landline calls up to 1 hour duration. The broadband is fine, only 1mb but good enough to do everything I need, it does drop at around 9pm every night for a few seconds which is really annoying but I’m used to it now and it reconnects immediately.
