Assuming you live in the UK by your name, you can get a kinda-free-laptop from PCWorld. Its around £30 a month and the contract lasts around 12 – 18 months.
What you really pay for is the modem subscription service, and that runs of mobile phone signals. You do not need a wireless router to browse the web
You can also browse literally ANYWHERE. Park, Shops, Home, Work, Meetings… All without a router.
Speeds often run around 4Mbps.
If you do not live in the UK, I think you might get one from a computer shop or phone shop somewhere. As long as you have a phone signal, you have broadband.

Acer. They are the cheapest laptop and there the reason why laptops are going down on price. I have an Acer Aspire 3680. I bought it in February, 2007 and it works well.
Note: The only problem I have with my Acer is that if it’s on for awhile and you restart after it’s recently been on awhile, the sound does not work through the output (headphone) jack. I still haven’t been able to find a solution for this except when it does that. leave the laptop of for at least 20-30 minutes. I’ve only had this problem with my Acer but I have theory:
The output (headphone) jack on on the front (not on the side like most laptops) and it has something to do with the location of it. But still not sure why.
Their laptops have probably improved though, its been 2 years since I bought mine. Could also have a defective part. But I did buy it where I used to go to buy parts and had a lot of trouble there with stuff every time I go there.
