Q&A: Why is the red light on my router “Internet”?
Question by Henry: Why is the red light on my router “Internet”?
I’m on Talk-Talk and have a wireless router. Been working fine, until yesterday. Now I can’t get the internet at all, but the email sends and receives.
There’s a red light on the router -the :INTERNET” one.
Any ideas please?

It has a problem connecting to the internet.

it is unable to connect
A lot of people have this same problem with Talk Talk.
It always seems to be an issue with the synchronisation between the router and the ISP. You can change the MTU settings of the router and see if that doesn’t solve your problem.
With your computer connected to the router (with wire – don’t do this wireless), open internet explorer and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 Enter the user name and password that you have set for the router.
Set the MTU to manual and specify the size as 1300. Save the settings and then unplug the power to the router. Wait for another 30-60 seconds and then re-connect the power to the router.
I assume that you have a modem from your ISP AND a separate wireless router.
Without the router, connect the modem directly (hardwired) to your computer. If you cannot get to the internet call Talk/Talk for help testing-resetting your modem.
If you are online then we’ve eliminated the modem as the problem. Call wireless router maker for help resetting your LAN.
If one or the other device is defective, its time to buy a new one.
Nuclear war!!!! Run!!!!
Power off the router for 10 minutes then power it back on.
Its not connecting to the net, contact your ISP
