Q&A: Is there actually ANY decent broadband providers out there?
Question by wings: Is there actually ANY decent broadband providers out there?
Every website I have been on has terrible reviews about every single company. I need unlimited broadband because of xbox live, but I can’t find anything with even half decent reviews. Someone help me please.

They all have their good points and bad points.
You know what they say, you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time!
Some people think the sun shines out of the backside of their ISP while others think it’s the pits!
I use Virgin‘s broadband cable service. It delivers what is says on the tin 24/7/365 and I have no complaints with it or the service I get.
Ask someone else and you would probably get another story and others just have an ax to grind.
What do you think? Answer below!

my broadband provider is sky..but I receive it as part of a package which I feel is totally good value
for money. package includes phone line rental; off peak calls; tv package. At £38 it is a good deal; but
any comparison I have done is only against Virgin or BT who offer similar packages…but don’t have
any qualms about leading you astray by implying that introductory offers 50% cheaper will be the
monthly fee payable..not saying that 3months down the line when true kicks in will work out substantially dearer.
Assuming you are from UK (I take it thats what the flag at the bottom means).
Virgin currently has the fastest connection via fibre optic media up to 100Mbps. They have successfully tested 200Mbps although, because everyone else is crap, they have no need for this yet as there is no competition, but at least this gives you a good insight to their upgradability.
They offer unlimited browsing on some packages but a fair usage policy does apply.
Sky offers a package (20Mbps) which as far as I’m aware is still without any fair usage policy, although they will call you if you’re taking the piss. You’re only likely to get one of these calls if you’re downloading massive amounts of movies and songs though.
The advantage with these 2 is you can get a TV and phone package included. Sky uses BT‘s lines as far as I’m aware so when BT finally gets their crap together and installs fibre, they should hopefully mooch off their fibre.
We have Sky and apart from the fact that it’s not fibre, I can’t fault it. We’ve had no problems whatsoever. They offer a faster service than BT who we switched from (and still do according to BT‘s site) and we used to get problems with BT where the internet would die occasionally.
I hear TalkTalk have some cheap packages you might want to have a look.
AOL and Orange are best to avoid.
O2 have won a lot of awards for their broadband but not sure if they offer an unlimited package.
The link below will show you a list of recommended providers.
This will be a waste if you’re not from the UK lol
