Hit the reset button on the modem, then plug it in, hook up with the cable modem and thats all.
You can then set the wireless encryption afterward.

Those previous answers are scary bad. You may be able to use this router, but not because of the Virgin broadband or your network settings. I’m not sure what the AC supply is in Peru but it may be the same as Europe or the US. You power supply may go pop when plugging it in.
If this doesn’t happen then MAYBE you can use your router with with your Virgin Broadband. If you’ve got (like I have) Virgin Media cable you will need a wireless router with an ethernet WAN (Internet) input. The output of your cable modem will be ethernet. If you have ADSL then you’re going to need an RJ11 input that runs from your ‘phone line.
Assuming everything connects up you simply change the connection details (or just remove them entirely for the cable connection) and off you go.
you may have to clone the mac address of your pc if you were using the modem on your pc originally.
Other then that it should be fairly straight forward.
YES. You can use it with virgin Boradband, infact with any boradband connection, and with any type, Cable or DSL…
To do it, you have to reset the settings you had in Peru…
Unplug the Wirless router (wi-fi) and press the reset button (use a pen or a pin to do it), keep pressing and now plug the router and turn ON the power…wait while the Test signal comes up an the wireless signal also comes up.
Now plug in your Broadband cable into the Wireless router, and do the required settings on your computer to get connected…
