Q&A: How do I get rid of broadband cables and set up a Wireless network for 2 PC’s?
Question by mortyuk2002: How do I get rid of broadband cables and set up a Wireless network for 2 PC’s?
Sorry to sound so retarded. Basically at the moment we have ASDL broadband coming in through the telephoen line. What do I need to buy to make a wireless network for the broadband for 2 PC’s.
Any suggestions or hints on good Home wireless setups would be appreciated.
Many thanks

I’d like to get rid of this that is bodering in my connection to internet. I DON’T NEED IT AT ALLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or you can make a simple network with 3 network cards “2 network cards in first computer with internet conection ” and the 3′rd card in the second computer after that you must set up the first computer to be a proxy server for the second one. and this option is more chiperr coz you got to buy only one network card if the computers that you have are having allready network cards.
You need to make sure that both of your PC’s have wireless cards in them. Google: ASUS WIRELESS-G WL-138G 802.11G WIRELESS PCI ADAPTER

For a cheap one $ 30. You will need one wireless card for each PC.
Then you will need a wireless router:
Here is a list of them that I found on line just now:

Once you put the wireless cards in your PC’s and you configure your wireless router (BTW, you will probably need a LAN cable connected from one of your PC’s during the configuration), You should be all set to put your PC’s anywhere in the house
first you need i wireless router. second you need wireless adapter cards. you are ready to setup you wireless network.
First You will need a Wireless Router plugged into your telephone line. This takes the Broadband Signal and converts it to Wireless. It is like a Radio, transmitting Wireless Broadband around your home. Then for each of the 2 PCs you will need a Wireless adaptor. This is fits in a USB port and receives the Broadband Waves and connects you to the web etc.
So you need a Router and 2 x USB Wireless adaptors.
To set-up a wireless network for 2 PC’s you first need to buy a router, you can but them at BestBuy, Walmart, Circuit City, or Tiger Direct (online) has some for cheap prices. I would make sure the router’s connection speed goes to at least 54 Mbps. Also you need to but a wireless card to put inside trhe computer recieving the wireless connection, this is also available at the places listed above. The other PC will be the one directly connected to the router, unless you want to go wireless for both (Requires 2 wireless cards)

go to electronic store and ask them they will help you to make right choice
I would get a wireless router 802.11b/g. Go to your electronics super store and they can demo it for you there.
Just buy yourself a wireless router, ask in any PC shop, even major supermarkets stock them now. Ask the spotty faced teenager!
