I changed my server in feb ,and am having loads of trouble, how do I go about cancelling the whole package & start afresh ,or even going back to spending my time usefully on my other hobbies, which are far less time consuming,,,,, Thanks for any sensible replies E

You maybe tied into a 6 or 12 month contract check it out first!

You didn’t say which Broadband provider you are with. Look at your terms and conditions that you agreed to in order to get connected. Sometimes some of these companies lock you into a 12 month contract, and even if you want to end the contract you will still have to pay them for time which you haven’t used.
I am with Tiscali, and I have never had a problem with them, other than last week when they had a problem with their server for a few days, they then have compensated us for this.
With Tiscali, you are not locked into any contract, and their broad band package is more than ample to run our network of three PC’s on. The charge to us per month is £12.98 for 2.2Megabites per second.

P.S. It would be a shame for you to go off the internet, just because of a bad provider, and we would all miss you.
I agree with scottie. I’m pretty sure you’ll find that you’re tied into a contract. If you attempt to cancel your account, you’ll find that they’ll want the whole 12 months, or however long the contract is for, from you.
Now, if you can find just cause that suggests that they are breaking the contract (i.e., you got through periods where you’re not able to access the internet because their servers are down), you might have a leg to stand on if it comes to going to small claims court.
If you get TalKTalk phone line there braodband comes free and once the roater is set up it works great, I have had very little trubble with my connection, I am not saying it’s error free but it’s a lot better than some I have tried.
