No trouble at all. All oh these devices are certified by Wi-Fi. This means that the “company” called Wi-Fi had checked and certified that the devices can work together with no problems at all.
All you have to do is when you buy your new laptop, enable the wireless LAN and search for active networks. Click connect on your network and you will be prompt to write in a pass key. It should be written somewhere on your router.

Should be pretty simple actually. All you need to do is confirm that your wireless router is transmitting a wireless signal and that if your network is encrypted (it should be) you know the passkey to connect to it.
If you know how to access the router configuration page you shouldn’t have any problems. I’ll quick walk you though it.
Go to the start menu and select RUN
When the run prompt appears enter “cmd”
A command prompt will appear then enter “ipconfig”
It should list your ip address, subnet mask and default gateway. You want to write down your default gateway.
Usually the most common 3 are
192.168.0.1
192.168.1.1
192.168.0.254
Once you have your default gateway enter it in your internet browser. Don’t put http:// in front of it just, enter the number. It will come up with a log-in page. For netgear the password is usually just “admin”, if that doesn’t work try “admin” as the user and “admin” as the password.
Then search around for the wireless settings in the router, it shouldn’t be very hard to find. Enable some sort of security protocol. I usually setup wpa personal secuirty, this way you can set your password so you’ll remember it later. Once you have your settings the way you want it click the save settings button and you’re done. Now you should be able to connect to your router with your new laptop.
