Please someone help I have bought a 2nd hand Netgear WNR3500 Wireless router it came with no Installation CD (Setup CD) the problem is when I connect my Virgin 50MB Cable modem to it via ethernet cable into the wireless routers “internet port” then connect the wireless router to my PC again using a ethernet cable connected to “port 1″ since it has 4 ports I cannot connect to the internet I have Windows Vista and in “Network and Sharing” it says “Unidentified network” Please help I have done everything reset the modem the router powered off the modem and router but no luck I have searched the internet but no luck also when the wireless router is connected I do a “ipconfig/all” but the ip address I get is starting with 169 ??? but when cable modem is connected directly the ip address begins with 80 ??? which is my Virgin ip address Also on wireless router one light is orange this is the “i” light for internet which should be green.

Via ethernet cable
Wireless router which is then connected to the PC But cannot access the internet showing as Unidentified network in Windows Vista under Network and Sharing
I also do not have the Setup CD for this wireless router since it was bought 2nd hand

Could you not have typed that in a coherent manner? It’s making my eyes bleed!

You’ve probably got a faulty router, but due to that mess I can’t understand anything else you’ve said to help.
