I have to agree with the other revies, the setup was painless and the router just works. However I don’t use the wireless, I have cabled the whole house due to the poor wireless devices I have had in the past. The 1Gb LAN was what I was after, all I can say is transferring files from all the machines I have is so much more faster.

10 out of 10 – Does what it says on the tin. Very easy to set up with strong coverage around the whole house.

I had a standard 802.11g 54mbps router from Virgin Media, a nice unit but its a headache transferring huge files either by LAN or W-LAN. I saw this router at £50 and thought i’d splash out on it.
I was mostly drawn by the gigabit switch, my computers and our PS3 all support 1.0Gbps performance, only our laptops that don’t. All of the wired connections are reaching full performance which i’m extremely impressed with.
The connection strength of the wireless is superb, constantly 5 bars throughout the house, even in the furthest corner away from router, not yet seen it drop
It was easy to set up, was done within a few minutes, took longer to update laptops with different WPA2 passphrase than the router itself!
My only gripe is the router doesn’t reach full 300mbps on my laptop.
This is a Packard Bell MB88 series laptop with built in Wireless N(which is a reason I chose N, besides better range), however despite router being set to 300mbps, and even when the laptop is next to the router, it stays at 144mbps, this is still better than G, but not quite full N speed
Overall very happy with router, it does lose a star due to not reaching full N speed

Very easy to set up, good instructions, and it just worked straight out of the box. Very good wireless reception, although won’t sustain the higher wireless transmission speeds for long (gets disrupted by cordless phones, other mobiles, so have re-set to lowest – default – wireless speed, where it is unaffected). Recommend it as solid basis for a fast home wireless network.

I needed a new router as I was moving to Virgin media and I’ve always been happy with Netgear stuff in the past, so I took the plunge with this one.
Setup was very simple and within minutes I was surfing away. Everything I have thrown at it, connection wise ( iMac wireless, Samsung NC10 wireless, XBox 360 wired and PS3 wireless ), has worked straight away and the connection remians fast, no matter what I’m doing. Obviously this is attributable to the excellent Virgin broadband connection too.
The only slight problem was the PSU packed up within days, but luckily the router Virgin give you free is another Netgear and the power supply is compatible.
