Question by kennyjaybrpwn: My BT Broadband connection is so slow takes several attempts to open a page. Only 48Mbps and dropping! Why?
Started last night. I thought i maybe had a virus and decided to purchase the latest Norton AntiVirus 360 2.0. But i soon relised it was my BT Broadband as i have been unable to install Norton as connection to pages keeps timing out. All night our connection has been running around 56Mbps and has dipped further to around 16Mbps/48Mbps. Anyone any idea what is happening! I have unlimited broadband up to 8. Any ideas really welcome!

Are you wireless? Someone else might be using your connection. Or it could just be a fault with BT.

48Mbps, pretty fast.
you mean kbps, if it is mbps i wouldnt be complaining, even 1mbps. lol
if you use anything that has P2P, like 4OD, torrent programs, bbc iplayer, p2p file sharing, BT are limmiting your connection.
if your not there may be work being done on your line or a break in the line, check there web site.
uninstall ur norton 360 as it occupies a lot of memory to run
download tcpoptimizer.exe (500 kb only)
from http://www.speedguide.net
it is an optimizer to speed up ur internet speed
and dont forget to install ur old anti-virus
open the file specified and enter the speed u want
click on optimal settings
click on ok
wow u internet speed has increased!!!
