Question by Jo: Is 3G mobile broadband any good or is it slow?
I need to have internet access without a land line.I am thinking of getting 3G mobile broadband ( dongle?). I am based near Colchester in Essex and have been informed by 3g that the coverage is good but is it very fast? Can anyone advise please?

3 always say its good signal in your area where ever you live just to get you to join if i was you i would go with vodafone or t-mobile
This is the list of mobile broadbands and their packages. Although not on the list Virgin mobile phones have started doing it as well.

Most mobile networks now cover about 95% of the UK. Speed like any other type of broadband all depends the demand on the service at the time you are using it. Although having said that mobile is more susceptible to signal strength than a “fixed” service.
i can only tell you that i have been very disappointed in mine which is on 3 network and is very slow
