Obviously you need a phone line which is compatible with broadband, which most our at present, but if you live in the sticks you may not be lucky to get super speeds. You can set your phone line to bar outgoing calls, but you actually pay for this feature, just dont plug a phone in!

I THINK YOU NEED A PROPER PHONE IN COMING AND OUT GOING, IT DEPENDS ON THE COMPANY YOU ARE GOING TO USE.
get a wireless broadband, all you need installed is an antennae and cable running to your computer.
Yep you can have a line on incoming calls for Broadband. Just as long as you have a line all is well
broadband is cable, you do not need a phoneline. i have broadband and no phone.

You could explore Cable-based broadband. If you have satellite, there is a way, albeit expensive, to get broadband over satellite, but I think you still need a phone line. Without knowing what your phone company requires you to have to get DSL, I just can’t answer you about the phone connection.
