Question by dee: How will I be charged for Non-Cable broadband?
When I register with BT and a broadband company (currently with Virgin) will BT bill me for every minute I am online, even though I will be paying my Broadband provider….Or will I only be charged for the line rental?

You will pay your normal line Rental to BT and then a seperate bill from your Broadband company.
I am with BT for everything so get one bill for the Broadband and the phone line but ocassionally get a quarterly bill if I have used the phone thats attached to the Broadband line as that is seperate.

Stay with Virgin, or check your maxiumum line speed. You’ll find you have slower upload/download speeds no matter which package/advterised speed you get.
Although you may be sold a 10mb broadband service you may only receive about 6mb- depending on the quality of the line and how far you are away from your exchange.
If you really want to leave Virgin, or get a cheaper deal phone them up and see what they can do. They will offer you a decent deal (like they did for me). Im now in 4MB (soon to be upgraded free to 10mb). I was only on 2MB and im currently being charged only £10 for 4mb- whem i was paying more for 2mb…
