How many customers do the major broadband providers have?
Question by Darius Rodrigues: How many customers do the major broadband providers have?
How many customers do the major broadband providers have for broadband?
And how many customers do they have on broadband and phone packages?
I’m looking at BT, Orange, Talk Talk, AOL.
I’m doing a Uni degree on Telecommunications and any help on the info. or where I could find it would really be appreciated!

Well I did a reasonable search and there doesn’t seem to be any statistics or records kept, at least not for publication.
Providers seem to hold those kinds of cards close to their chest! Not only that most people keep changing from one to the other, records would be impossible to keep up with.
Mostly the ADSL users because they think they can get better speeds. 99% of the time they get a worse service. That’s why they all keep playing musical chairs!
Virgin seems to be the only one who holds their fibre optic customers because cable doesn’t suffer the problems with speed that ADSL does. Also Virgin‘s standard service is 10 MB/s [ADSL is only 8] and they also offer 20 and 50 Mb/s as well. Virgin is also rolling out a 100 Mb/s service now as well which will be the fastest in the UK.
There is no way you will get those sorts of speeds with a copper wire.
