How long does it take to unbundle LLU at a local exchange for broadband?

Question by djc_y2k2: How long does it take to unbundle LLU at a local exchange for broadband?
I’ve been informed by my ISP that LLU will be enabled in my area soon, and someone has since informed me that it will be as soon as tomorrow. When an LLU exchange goes live, how long does it take until I am connected to the new service?

That depends, But quite often they dont get it unbundled by the date they tell you, I know an exchange that was supposed to be 21CN WBC enabled, Thats bt upgrading their own kit to offer upto 20meg broadband they said it would be 30th of March this year, But it wasnt actually done for another 6 days. The best way to find out is by going here http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php and typing in your postcode and it will tell you your local excahgne and what providers have unbundled and who are due to unbundle the exhange and stuff like that, That will give you an estimate date of when the providers going to unbundle your exchange. I think it takes about 2 weeks after the exchaing going live before they start to offer serivce.
