How easy is it to switch from Virgin Media to Sky or another tv/telephone/broadband provider?
Question by Ed: How easy is it to switch from Virgin Media to Sky or another tv/telephone/broadband provider?
I want to change from Virgin because they will never allow me to log into email, but would it involve a load of technicians coming round and changing cables?

if you switch to sky and have never had sky installed an engineer will need to come out…. If you switch to BT , along as you have an active bt line an engineer will NOT need to come out , as they send your modem, cables and everything you need by mail and you set it up yourself…
What do you think? Answer below!

If your reason for switching is because you have a VirginMedia e-mail account that is difficult to access, then if you switch ISP you will lose your VirginMedia e-mail account.
So if the above is true and you’re happy to lose your e-mail account, a simpler solution would be to just sign up for a Yahoo! or Hotmail account and use that. Doing that removes the dependency between your ISP and your e-mail, making switching in the future easier.
If your e-mail is not VirginMedia, then it is likely the problem you experience accessing your e-mail are not Virgin‘s fault but either something on your PC or at the e-mail host. That being the case switching provider will not solve your problem, just cause you the hassle of changing things.
Bottom line: Solve your e-mail problems first.
No it will not take a load of technicians to come round, Usual virgin will just cut the line off there end and come collect the box then you can get sky in as this goes through your phone line and its all sorted. just make sure you can have sky fast before virgin gets cut off
