Hi,
The long & short of it we all probably do not know what we are getting & if it is actually what we “should” be paying!!! Thats the problem with technology nowadays, we all want it, not now but yesterday & in all honestly, we will believe what is told to us. There must be loads of things that each & everyone of us must pay for services that may or may not be what we agreed to or subscriped to. In the end we just have to hope that what we pay for, is what we actually get & unless your are into technology & fully understand the workings of mobile/internet/satelite networks, then there is little chance of assessing whats what!!!!!
Your question certainly gives food for thought to many other things that we automatically assume & accept.
Go to five.tv/gadgetshow and test your download speed there.
They are running a campaign against ISP’s promising “Up to”
speeds.
You dont normally
You notice how they WORD the ad… it says UP TO ..2.4.5.6.7.8.whatever
Thats where they win
Im with one that promises 8
Been with them 14mths
highest i EVER had was 2.1
im currently on 2
Their promises mean nothing
To actually find what your on or what the computer is giving you if you hover the cursor over the little icon you get on the bottom right hand side of your screen (mine is two little televsions together) it will tell you the mpgs there.
Also you can go on a site if you have an ADSL and ‘rate your speed’ Put ‘rate your broadband speed’ in google searchbar. Then record it. And contact the provider and plead to get it raised… but you prob wont get anywhere anyway.
http://www.speedtest.net/ and now you know.
ISPs are very careful to say upto 8mb so that can mean any speed really. You rarely get what you are paying for.
Test the speed here..
