Question by ngboyle: How do you change a BT home hub to use it as a wireless router with another broadband provider?
i have a BT home hub not used anymore as I changed my broadband provider. The router they supplied is not as good as the home hub was. I want to set up my home hub to allow signals from the new provider and allow me wireless access?

if it’ll do this, switch it from routing mode to bridging mode. that’ll allow you to use the home hub as an access point. It’s turning off the router portion so that a downstream router (your new router) can handle the routing. You may have to update the firmware. should be able to go to the manufacturer’s website and get that and the instructions.

hi,
first check whether your BT home hub has the wireless feature or not, if yes search and download a compatible firmware (doesn’t matter even if it is from third party) , and update your BT home hub firmware with new downloaded firmware.
All i can say is have fun. If the hub is under two years old they are all coded.
Hi you need to unlock your home hub by downloading software try typing in unlocking hubs and see what comes up
