How do I install bt broadband without the cd?
Question by ron b: How do I install bt broadband without the cd?
I have signed up with bt broadband and had it installed onto my laptop, but recently had the hard drive re-imaged and thus have lost a lot of stuff. I cannot recover what I have lost, and I cannot for the life of me find the original broadband cd. Short of calling bt and being put on hold for an eternity is there any way to load the necessary drivers without the cd?

You should not need anything. Just hook it up, restart computer/modem, and you are all set.
The CD just customizes the browser and stuff… I NEVER load CD’s for broadband… it just loads junk software and adware.

hi. you may try this very easy one:
1. click start
2. go to Settings
3. Control panel
4. Network and internet connections
5. click on Network Connections
6. go to Create a new connection then run network connection wizard. you can choose broadband connection from there.
hope that helped. good luck!
why don’t you save yourself alot of headaches.time. and trouble. and call verizon internet services. they can get you set up with broadband. and it will probably be cheaper than what you are paying now. and you won’t be put on hold for an eternity neither…….
ok, u didn’t say what type of modem you use.. so hopefully this will help

you will need an “unzip” program to get the drivers extracted >

The POP3 server (incoming mail) is mail.btinternet.com
The SMTP server (outgoing mail) is also mail.btinternet.com
as for your connection settings, not 100% sure how they set it up , as i’m on a different provider.

might be of help also
take it on emule
Go to the BT website and you can download all you need from there !.
Might take a few minutes searching and you may need to put your details in but its all there .
Why load drivers at all? My best advice would be to ditch the USB cable and if you haven’t already got a network card then to install that and use CAT5 patch cable to connect it to your modem/router. That way you will be instantly online no drivers required and not using a valuable USB port. BT normally supply a patch cable in the original box otherwise they are inexpensive to purchase from any high street pc retailer.
btw bt is rubbish
u can get drivers from driverguide.com
