The easiest method is to buy a wireless router.
Wireless enabled on the laptop just means it is already capable of connecting to a wireless network, you need any additional devices on the laptop itself. You still need something to wirelessly broadcast your internet connection, that’s were the router comes in.

yes you must buy a wireless router
get a wireless router and a wireless card.
Buy a router I’d suggest Belkin54g and a network card I’d suggest for that WLAN and run the network connections (WinXP) on BOTH computers
what you need to do is have a talk to your isp(internet service provider) and explain your set up at home and they should be able to recommend a wireless package
aol are doing a wireless package as standard at the moment, and bt broadband are doing the much talked about “bt home hub” which has a wireless and wired connections and can run up to 10 p.c,s
if you live in a built up area, try running the wireless network set up wizard, and if you have a bit of the luck you may pick up a connection in your area,if you do,dont go telling everyone, you may be able to use that until you get a wireless router, however this is stealing bandwidth and is illegal so i am not recommending it
your best bet would be to speak to your isp, like i said, wireless setups are now cheaper than wired
good luck
